39 for the first time Blog Hop

Hi! Rexann here, Welcome to the 39 for the first time blog hop! Jennifer had so much fun having a hop on her birthday last year she thought it would be fun to do it again! (This may be the inaugural 39 for the xxx time hop!) Come hop along with a talented group of ladies who she has met on Facebook who wanted to help her celebrate her birthday....Happy Birthday Jennifer!!

If you came here from Rachelle's  then you are in the right place. If you just happened upon this blog by email or web surfing, please go back to the beginning at http://craftycardgallery.blogspot.com/ and visit the hop from the beginning. You don't want to miss out on any of these amazing cards.

Our grand prize blog candy is a set of Stamps. You get one entry for hopping with us and a 2nd entry if you make a birthday card and post the link on Crafty Card Gallery.

One of my all time favorite things to do is discover new products and then learn how to use them. I discovered and am so intrigued with this microfine glitter. I was not warned  though that I would be hooked!!! LOL!
I was showed  the magic behind the tape sheets and the glitter. I was shopping in a craft store last week-end and saw some samples and needed to know how they were made.  One of the teachers in the store was happy to and I was amazed! It is so simple and…Beware…Enabler alert!! Striking and Beautiful!! Looks like stained glass effect!

I wish that I could pass this card through the screen to you. It is not only the beauty of the sparkles that intrigues me, but it is the finished hand of the product that makes me giddy. The technique is called Burnished Velvet. The final product feels like a very beautiful velvet, or perhaps satin. It is so very difficult to bring these to life in pictures but I can guarantee you that the effect is magical.
Before I show you the card here are a couple of sites to get some of the product!

  3. OOOOOH, what a beautiful, magical card, Rexanne!! I just love the microfine glitter's effect on the front cover of your card. It will make your Auntie's eyes twinkle to receive it!! And how lucky you are to have a sweet aunt hitting that nonogenarian mark! My gramma made it to 99 ... died sitting up with a paintbrush in her hand, painting eyes on the next of hundreds of porcelain dolls she made over her lifetime. See, the crafty gene lives! :) I'm always happy to hop with you RexAnne! Make it a twinkly day!

    Fondly,
